Generating Drafts

How draft generation works, what section types are created, and how to get the best results.

Generating Drafts

Bid Refinery generates citation-grounded response drafts using your library evidence and the extracted tender requirements.

Before you generate

For best results, make sure you have:

  • At least 3–5 relevant library files uploaded (capability statements, case studies)
  • Requirements reviewed and corrected where needed
  • Project title and context set correctly

Starting a draft

  1. Open your project and click the Draft tab
  2. Click Generate New Draft
  3. Confirm in the dialog — generation runs in the background
  4. Sections appear in real time as they complete

Section types

Each Scoring requirement produces a dedicated response section. You will also get:

Section TypeDescription
Executive SummaryHigh-level overview of your bid
Scoring ResponsesOne section per scored question
Compliance MatrixSide-by-side mapping of requirements to evidence
Tender SummaryKey facts extracted from the tender

How the AI uses your library

The AI retrieves the most relevant passages from your library files using semantic search. Every claim in the draft is anchored to a real library document — you can see the citation inline.

Generation time

Most drafts complete within 3–8 minutes depending on the number of questions and library size.

Multiple drafts

You can generate multiple drafts for the same project. Each draft is versioned and timestamped. Previous drafts are accessible from the Draft History panel.

Draft modes

  • Standard Draft — Full response with citations
  • QA Mode — Generates quality assessment against the requirements rather than response text
